BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Augustana track & field junior Mearah Miedema was selected as NSIC Field Athlete of the Week. This is the first time in Miedema's career she has achieved Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Miedema has had an outbreak season, just two meets into the competition. In the first meet just two weeks ago, Miedema leaped to a personal best 5-7.25 in the high jump, which was also a provisional mark.

This past weekend at the Jim Emmerich Invite, Miedema elevated to new heights jumping 5-9.25 to win the meet and hit the auto qualifying standard. 

Miedema is currently sitting second in the nation in the high jump.

Augustana is back in action on Sunday with a dual at Northern State.
