SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana swimming team completed a weekend of action at the Coyote Invitational with two days of quad duals. The Vikings competed against South Dakota, South Dakota State, Sioux Falls and Iowa Central Community College.Â
"We had another good weekend of swimming," said Augustana head coach Lindsie Micko. "Many ladies made improvements from two weeks ago and we are set up to have a successful NSIC Championships."
Senior Taylor Beagle came away with wins on both days, winning the 500-freestyle on Friday night, touching the wall in 5:04.78 and the 1650-free on Saturday in a time of 17:27.56. She also placed third in the 200 IM at 2:11.72.Â
Sophomore Ruth Huffman also placed in the 500-free coming in fifth at 5:23.74.Â
Also finding success was junior Isabel Waite, placing sixth in the 50-free touching the wall in 25.61. Joining her was junior classmate Alysse Grohs swimming to a fourth place finish in the 200 butterfly in 2:30.23.
There were also two fourth-place relay finishes on the weekend. The 200-yard free relay on Friday night starring Robarge, Waite, senior Merriam Hagadorn and sophomore Justine Stellmaker snagged fourth in a time of 1:42.88.Â
Also placing fourth in the 400-yard free relay was Robarge, junior Rebecca Schmidt, Huffman and Stellmaker with a time of 3:43.26.Â
Augustana returns to competition at the NSIC Championships, which will be held in West Fargo, North Dakota, on Feb. 10-13.
