Parsons and Fehr Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana soccer team had two of its members named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
 
Bailey Parsons and Sylvia Fehr earned their spots on the team as Parsons owns a 3.69 GPA in biology and psychology. Fehr owns a 3.90 GPA while earning a degree in mathematics.
 
Parsons, a native of Bennington, Nebraska, has started all 19 games for the Vikings on the defensive line and has played every minute of 16 contests. Holding down the back line, she has helped Augustana to 10 shutouts on the season. In the Vikings' win over MSU Moorhead, Parsons recorded the game-winning goal.
 
Fehr, hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, ranks second in the nation with 15 total assists and third in NCAA Division II with 0.79 assists per game. In the Vikings' win at Minnesota Crookston this season, she set a single-game record with three assists in one game. She set the single-season record for assists as the Vikings on Oct. 10 when she dished her ninth assist of the year. In addition, she owns a goal to give her 17 points on the year.
 
The duo will be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with first, second and third teams announced in early December.
 
Augustana continues its season Friday with an 11 a.m. kick in the semifinals of the NSIC Tournament against Minnesota State. The semifinals and finals take place in Bemidji, Minnesota.
