BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced its tri-annual NSIC All-Academic honors Wednesday with Augustana leading the way with 71 student-athletes. Well over half of the Viking student-athletes, 47 total, earned the distinction of NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.
 
"I continue to be impressed by our student-athletes in the classroom," Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton said. "Leading the NSIC in All-Academic honors again is no small feat, and is another example of building champions in the classroom, in competition and in the community." 
 
To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher.
 
Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
