Augustana Women’s Basketball Returns to Action Hosting Wayne State

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Augustana women's basketball team returns from the holiday break to host Wayne State inside the Sanford Pentagon on Sunday with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.

The Wildcats
Wayne State comes out of the holiday break with a record of 7-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play. Most recently the Wildcats claimed a road win over Upper Iowa 65-61.
 
In the victory, Lauren Zacharias scored a career-high 29 points. She scored 10-straight points for the Wildcats in the fourth quarter to outlast the Peacocks.
 
Kylie Hammer leads the Wildcats in points per game, averaging 20.3 per outing, while Kassidy Pingel averages 6.9 rebounds per game.
 
The Vikings 
Augustana holds a record of 6-5 overall and 2-5 within the NSIC. Last time out, the Vikings had a lights-out performance inside the Sanford Pentagon shooting 55.6 percent from the field to best Dakota Wesleyan 91-67.
 
In the win, Lauren Sees had a career-high 12 field goal makes that combined with 3-of-6 from long range to score 27 points in the game. 
 
Aislinn Duffy continued her double-double reputation having 21 points and 11 rebounds in the contest, granting Duffy her sixth double-double of the season.
 
For the year, Sees is the Vikings' leading scorer with 16.2 points per outing. Duffy is the top rebounder while averaging a double-double of 13.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game. 
 
One Last Thing 
Duffy leads the NSIC in double-doubles this year with six, a feat that ranks her 11th overall in the nation.
