BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Augustana junior Tyl Woelber garnered NSIC Field Athlete of the Week honors after an NCAA provisional performance from the Bison Open last weekend. 

Woelber had his season-debut in the heptathlon last weekend at the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota, winning the event and beating out several Division I athletes in the process with a score of 5,334 points. Woelber won the high jump and had five second place finishes along with a fourth-place finish to secure the top spot. 

He was 23 points shy of his personal best and only 50 points to the automatic-qualifying standard. His mark currently ranks him first in the conference and fifth in the nation.

Augustana returns to action on Saturday at the SDSU Indoor Classic in Brookings, South Dakota.
