BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Augustana swimming's senior Taylor Beagle finishes her collegiate career as a Viking in All-America fashion on the final day of the NCAA Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. She placed 10th in the 1650-free and lowered her own school record.
Beagle swam her fifth and final race of the NCAA Championships on Saturday morning, swimming the 1650-free where she placed second in the second heat. More impressively than her finish in the heat was her time where the Lead, South Dakota, native lowered her school record by just under 8 seconds. She broke the 17-minute barrier swimming a time of 16:53.61.
"I couldn't be more proud of the week Taylor had," Augustana head coach Lindsie Micko said. "Although the year was unprecedented, she stayed the course and gave everything she had to have a successful season!
"To come into a national meet and be great every day is not an easy task and she had great focus and determination all week. What a great year!"
