Augustana Women's Basketball Welcomes Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's basketball team is set for a doubleheader weekend as the team hosts Minnesota Duluth on Friday and St. Cloud State on Saturday.

The Games

St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth are in a tie at the top of the NSIC standings, both having a 10-2 record within the conference. Through the season, both teams have been nationally-ranked. The Huskies got as high as No. 20 on the WBCA Top-25 Coaches' Poll back on Dec. 14, while the Bulldogs were ranked No. 14 after the first week of competition in November.

Fans are encouraged to wear gold on Saturday as part of the Be Bold, Wear Gold game in support of Augiethon and their efforts to raise money for Sanford Children's Hospital.

About the Bulldogs

Minnesota Duluth holds a 12-4 overall record with a 10-2 record in the loop. The Bulldogs are on a four-game win streak, most recently handling Winona State (61-47) and Upper Iowa (55-42).

Brooke Olson, a two-time WBCA DII All-American, leads the UMD with 17.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

The Bulldogs have a +9.8 scoring margin, holding teams to 55.2 points while scoring 64.9 points per game.

About the Huskies

St. Cloud State is 12-3 overall while going 10-2 in conference play this season. Last time out, the Huskies split a weekend of contests, being handed just their second conference loss of the season on Friday against Upper Iowa. SCSU bounced back on Saturday, defeating Winona State, 69-60.

Tori Wortz leads the Huskies in scoring averaging 13.1 points per outing while Nikki Kilboten leads the team in rebounds with 6.8 per contest.

Together, the two Huskies have racked up three NSIC North Player of the Week accolades this season, with Kilboten having two to her name and Wortz with one. 

About the Vikings

Augustana is 9-5 overall with a conference record of 5-5. The Vikings currently hold the longest win-streak in the conference, having won six straight with five of the wins coming against NSIC opponents. 

Most recently, Augustana bested Minot State (79-71) and UMary (83-75) with Vishe' Rabb's performance over the two games earning her her first NSIC South Player of the Week honor. 

She shot 48.3 percent from the field (14-of-29) on the weekend while averaging 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in the two contests.

The Vikings are led by Lauren Sees with 16.7 points per outing and Aislinn Duffy grabbing 11.4 rebounds per game.

One Last Thing

It is no secret that Sees is good at scoring, however, the Avon, South Dakota, native has scored in double figures in all but one game so far this season.
