Augustana Women’s Basketball Set for Friday Tilt At Bemidji State

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's basketball team is set for a matchup against Bemidji State on Friday slated for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. The previously scheduled game at Minnesota Crookston on Saturday has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Minnesota Crookston women's basketball program.

About the Beavers

Bemidji State is 10-7 overall while holding an 8-5 record within the conference. The Beavers most recently split a weekend of NSIC South competition, falling to Sioux Falls (66-59) on Friday and outlasting SMSU (70-67) on Saturday.

The Beavers lead the NSIC in both field-goal percentage (.442) and 3-point field goals per game (8.2) while averaging just under 70 points. Maddie Schires and Sydney Zerr average over two made 3-point field goals per game at 2.2 and 2.0, respectively.

Trinity Yoder is tops in the NSIC and ninth in the nation in assist per game, averaging 5.6 per outing to go along with her 12.3 points. 

The Beavers are led by Rachael Heittola averaging 15.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

About the Vikings

Augustana holds a 9-7 record overall and a 5-7 record within the loop. The Vikings are coming off a tough weekend falling to Minnesota Duluth (64-61) on Friday and St. Cloud State (72-59) on Saturday.

Aislinn Duffy averaged 21.5 points and nine rebounds over the two contests, garnering her eighth double-double of the year, which ranks her first in the conference and 18th in the nation.

Augustana is led by Lauren Sees scoring 16.1 points per contest while Duffy averages a double-double with 14.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per outing.

One Last Thing

It's a battle of strengths on Friday amongst the NSIC's best. The Beavers lead the NSIC shooting 44.2 percent from the field. The Vikings rank second in the NSIC in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to 37.1 percent shooting.
