Augustana Volleyball Inks Three on Signing Day

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana volleyball head coach Jennifer Jacobs announced Wednesday the signing of three future Vikings for the incoming freshman class of 2023. The class includes Reagan Jansen, Kelby Opland and Gabby Jones.

Reagan Jansen | Outside Hitter | Sioux Center, Iowa | Sioux Center High School

Jansen was a four-year starter and four-year letter winner for Sioux Center High School. In her senior season, Jansen was named to the Siouxland All-Conference First-Team, the AVCA All-Region Team and the AVCA Bright & Best Award First-Team during her senior campaign. During her senior season Jansen helped her team to an undefeated 9-0 record in conference play. She had 362 kills on .265 hitting percentage while having 32 blocks, 192 digs, and 48 aces. 

Jansen plans to major in business with a minor in marketing while at Augustana. 

Jacobs on Jansen: "Reagan is a force to reckon with on the pin, attacking high and powerful. Coupled with her strong block, she is a great addition."

Kelby Opland | Middle Hitter | Woodbury, Minn. | East Ridge High School

Opland was a three-year starter and three-year letter winner for East Ridge High School. Opland helped lead the Raptors to three-straight conference titles of the Suburban East Conference. In her sophomore season Opland garnered the section 8AAAA champion title while also helping the Raptors to a second-place finish at the state championship. In her senior season Oplan has completed 239 kills on .248 hitting percentage while having 116 digs, 30 aces  and 23 blocks.

Opland plans to major in exercise science while at Augustana. 

Jacobs on Opland: "Kelby is an athletic diamond in the rough. She jumps well, can hit from multiple positions and we are excited to have her at Augie."

Gabby Jones | Libero/Defensive Specialist | Sioux Falls, S.D. | O'Gorman High School

Jones was a two-year starter and three-year letter winner for O'Gorman High School. In her junior season, she helped O'Gorman to a 23-4 conference record and a state championship. She garnered 427 digs, 471 serve reception and 29 aces while being named to the all-tournament team and All-Metro Conference Honorable Mention. 

Jones plans to major in exercise science while at Augustana.

Jacobs on Jones: "Gabby will step right in and enhance our defense and passing game, she is a very talented player who keeps the ball off the floor, and is steady in serve receive."
