BURNSVILLE, Minn.--Tanner Brown and Drey Dirksen earned NSIC Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference Tuesday morning. Brown and Dirksen helped Augustana go 5-0 against two conference opponents, Minnesota Duluth and Bemidji State, last week.

Brown, a senior, had a stellar game on Saturday, breaking the career record for strikeouts. Brown totaled 17 strikeouts, tying the school record for most strikeouts in a game and pushed his career total to 227, surpassing Jacob Blank's career-record of 222.

Augustana defeated Bemidji State 10-0 in the first game of the series, largely in part to Brown giving up just two hits throughout the game while striking out 17 to move to 3-0 in 2022.

Dirksen, hailing from Spicer, Minnesota, tallied nine hits in 16 at bats over Augustana's doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth and three-game series against Bemidji State. Six of Dirksen's hits were homers.

The sophomore also logged 17 RBI and maintained a batting average of .563. In Augustana's 10-0 victory in game one against Bemidji State, Dirksen went 3-for-4 with three RBI. 

Dirksen's slugging percentage over the five-game weekend was 1.688.

The Vikings return to Ronken Field today against UMary in a doubleheader scheduled for 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
