SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana softball had the nation's bests in a pair of All-Region teams announced Wednesday. The Vikings had five members named to the NFCA All-Region Teams with three first-team honorees and two second-team selections. On the D2CCA All-Region Teams, Augustana had two first-team selections and three second-team honorees. The five members for each organization were the best in the nation.

Ashley Mickschl,
Mary Pardo and
Torri Chute earned NFCA First Team All-Central Region honors while
Gracey Brink and
Delaney Young were named to the second team. For D2CCA, Pardo and Brink were named to the first team while Young, Mickschl and Chute were named to the second team.

Pardo, a senior from Andover, Minnesota, leads the nation in home runs with 26 while batting .378. She has totaled 66 RBI with an .876 slugging percentage. Of her 70 hits, 37 have gone for extra bases. The center fielder also has a perfect fielding percentage.

Brink, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, earns her first all-region accolade after leading the Vikings with a .448 average. The catcher belted nine home runs mixed with nine doubles and a team-best four triples.

Young, the Vikings' first baseman, had a career-year with 13 home runs and 62 RBI. Hailing from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Young joins Pardo as the team leader in hits with 70. She also has six doubles on the season.

Mickschl, a three-time All-America honoree, owns a 21-2 record in 24 starts with a 1.24 ERA. She had a combined no-hitter in the season and has struck out 97 hitters in 129.1 innings pitched. The Woodbury, Minnesota, native also owns a team-best .91 WHIP.

Chute, hailing from Woodbury, Minnesota, took her NSIC Freshman of the Year campaign in 2021 and had an even better 2022. The designated player batted .417 with 12 home runs and a team-best 15 doubles.

Augustana begins NCAA postseason play Thursday at the Central Regional in Edmond, Oklahoma.

NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted on the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2022 NFCA Division II All-America squads

About the D2CCA Awards
Each member of the first-team All-Central Region squad will join first-team members from each of the other seven regions on the ballot for the D2CAA All-America Team. The teams are voted on by the members of the NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
