SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- Augustana baseball had one of its players named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Ryan Jares earned his spot on the team as he owns a 3.71 GPA while earning a degree in marketing. 

Jares, from Windsor, Colorado, has made 11 starts on the mound this season . The righty holds a 7-2 record throughout the 2022 season and tossed 66.1 innings. Jares has the eighth-lowest ERA in all of Division II at 1.90.

Jares started on the mound against Minnesota State last weekend, earning the win and helping the Vikings claim the 2022 NSIC regular season title. He spent eight innings on 

the mound and recorded eight strikeouts in the victory.

The junior will be placed on the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with first, second and third teams announced in early June.
