AUSTIN, Texas – Augustana senior swimmer Taylor Beagle, senior wrestler Daniel Bishop, senior golfer Jacob Lee and senior swimmer Kamryn Robarge have been recognized on the 2021-22 CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District At-Large teams for district 7, CoSIDA announced Thursday.
The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.Â
Beagle, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selection, owns a 3.94 GPA studying biology. She was the NSIC Swimmer of the Meet and finished First-Team All-America in both the 1,000m-free (fourth place) and the 1,650-free (fourth place) at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. The Lead, South Dakota, native set the NSIC record in the 1,000-free and 1,650-free. She also broke two school records en route to her All-America honors, breaking the school record in the 1,000m-free (10:02.25) and the 1,650-free (16:45.83).
Bishop, currently pursuing his master's in sports administration and leadership, completed his undergraduate degree in psychology with a GPA of 3.94. The Sioux City, Iowa, native saved his best year on the mat for last, breaking Augustana's career record for tech falls with his 23rd tech fall coming against MSU Moorhead. He also earned NSCA All-America honors and NWCA Scholar All-America honors. Bishop went 19-8 this season while also named the NSIC Elite 18 award winner.
Lee, a business administration major with a 3.67 GPA, led the Vikings on the golf course this season. The Parkston, South Dakota, native competed in eight events and 18 rounds of golf, leading AU with an average of 76.44 strokes per round. He shot a season-low round of 70 in the second round at the NSIC Championships, where he placed 10th overall. Lee had four top-20 finishes and one top-five finish in his senior campaign.
Robarge, earning her first CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, holds a 3.97 GPA studying mathematics. Hailing from Big Lake, Minnesota, Robarge swam two NCAA 'B' Standard times, coming in the 50-free (23.33) and the 100-free (51.59) during the NSIC Championships. She placed third in both the 50-free and the 100-free at the conference meet, in addition to a ninth-place finish in the 200-free.
