AUSTIN, Texas – The Augustana men's track & field and cross country teams had two of its members named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team Wednesday. Henry Klitzke and Austin Miller each earned the honors, becoming the Augustana Athletic Department's 12th and 13th Academic All-Americans for the school year. That is a new school record by four members. 

Klitzke, a business administration major with a 4.00 GPA, had a successful year on the cross country course and the track. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native was a part of the Augustana cross country team that won the NSIC Cross Country Championships, placing third overall. He was a part of the NCAA Central Region Team Champion, placing 16th at the meet. Lastly, on the cross country course, Klitzke earned All-America honors with his 36th place at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, where the team placed fourth overall.

During the indoor season, he set the NSIC record in the 3,000m at the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships, running 8:16.45 while also earning USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 3,000m. 

In the outdoor season, he was runner-up in the 10,000m at the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships to go with his third-place finish in the 5,000m.

Miller, a business administration major with a 3.67 GPA, has left his mark in Augustana history with the outdoor track & field national championships still to be run. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native was a part of the Augustana cross country team that won the NSIC Cross Country Championships, winning the race in 24:48.7. He also was a part of the NCAA Central Region Team Champion, placing fifth at the meet. Miller placed 47th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, where the team placed fourth overall. 

During the indoor track & field season, he was the national runner-up in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. He also ran the 800m leg of the distance medley relay that placed sixth in the nation. Miller earned USTFCCCA All-Central Region honors in the mile and DMR. He also holds the school record in the mile, running 4:02.40 on February 12 at the 7th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic.

Miller's outdoor campaign has been eye-opening. He ran the 10th-fastest time in Division II history, over 1,500m running 3:40.59 to lower his school record by over five seconds. He placed runner-up in the 1,500m at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to earn All-America accolades. 

Augustana easily led the NSIC in Academic All-America honors in 2021-22 and is believed to be among the best in all of NCAA Division II in total honors. A complete list of 2021-22 Academic All-America honorees is below.
