GREENSBORO, N.C.– Augustana baseball saw two of its players earn All-America honors, announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.  

Carter Howell was named to the NCAA Division II All-America First Team. Will Olson was named to the NCAA Division II All-America Third Team.

Carter Howell 

Howell earns ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors for the second time in his career at Augustana. He previously earned Second-Team All-America honors in 2021. Howell has earned D2CCA and NCBWA First-Team All-Region honors in 2022.  Starting in all 61 games, Howell hit .396 with 68 runs scored, 91 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs and 74 RBI. 

Howell stole 23 bases in 25 attempts and tallied 91 hits. He also has a .691 SLG% and a .447 OB%.

Will Olson 

This is Olson's second ABCA/Rawlings All-America honor after receiving Third-Team all-America honors in 2021. Olson also picked up NCBWA Second-Team honors and D2CCA Second-Team honors in the 2022 season. He has a batting average of .379 and has consistently been one of the top batters for the Vikings this season. 

The senior catcher has tallied 75 hits, 15 doubles, 12 home runs, 63 RBI and has started in 56 of the 58 games that he has played this season. Behind the plate, Olson's fielding percentage sits at .987.

The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First-Team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove winners for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 22.
