SIOUX FALLS, S.D.--The Augustana wrestling team returns to the mat for a pair of NSIC duals this week. The Vikings start Thursday with a road dual against Northern State at 7 p.m., before opening their home slate against Parkside at noon on Saturday.

The Wolves
Northern State holds a record of 3-2 overall. The Wolves last competed on Friday, defeating Sioux Falls 42-6 last Friday. The Wolves took on the Vikings earlier this season, as the Vikings left Brookings with a 26-18 victory. NSU was selected to finish fifth in the NSIC Preseason Poll

Northern State currently ranks tied for 13th in the NWCA top 25 poll. Wyatt Turnquist leads the Wolves in the individual rankings, ranking No. 1 at 149 pounds. Cole Huss is the seventh ranked 174 pounder, Devin Bahr is No. 10 at 157 pounds, and Jason Henschel ranks 11th at 133 pounds.

The Rangers
UW-Parkside is 2-0 in duals, with their last coming Nov. 11 against McKendree University. The Rangers have competed in open tournaments twice in the last three weeks, seeing three individual champions and three others finish in second. Parkside was picked to finish third in the NSIC preseason poll.

Parkside is nationally ranked at No. 7 as a team with five individually ranked wrestlers. Shane Corrigan is No. 3 at 125 pounds, Cayden Henschel and Reece Worachek are No. 5 at 141 and 184, respectively, Jalen Spuhler is sixth at 149, and Brady Schuh is eighth at 165. 

The Vikings
The Vikings hold a record of 2-1 overall and will open NSIC action on Thursday. Augustana was last on the mat at the South Dakota Showcase where the team went 2-1. Augustana defeated Northern State 26-18 and Dakota Wesleyan 52-6 in the victories. 

Two Vikings were individually ranked in the latest NWCA rankings. Jaxson Rohman remains steady at the top spot in the poll at 125 pounds. Rohman is 5-1 this season with a pin and three tech falls. Hunter Burnett ranks No. 10 at 141 pounds and is yet to wrestle this season. Augustana is tied for 18th in the NWCA team rankings.
