WEST FARGO, N.D. - Champions. The Augustana women's swimming & diving team, in just its seventh year of competition, won the NSIC Championship which concluded Saturday in West Fargo, North Dakota. The Vikings amassed 979.5 points to win the conference championship, 10.5 points ahead of second-place Minnesota State.Â

In addition, freshman
Bryn Greenwaldt was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Year while head coach
Lindsie Micko was named the NSIC Swim Coach of the Year.Â

Throughout the event, Augustana won seven event championships with four relay and three individual championships. Saturday was no exception as the Vikings claimed an individual championship and a relay championship.Â

Greenwaldt won the 100-yard freestyle in an NCAA 'B' Standard time of 50.43. The time was also a school record. The other event victory was a fitting end as a championship team as the relay team consisting of
Amaya Street,
Kamryn Robarge,
Meesha Montgomery and Greenwaldt won the 400-free relay. That winning time came in 3:25.93, shattering the previous school record by nearly five seconds set earlier this season.Â

Augustana recorded a total of five all-conference performances Saturday. Joining Greenwaldt on the 100 freestyle podium was Montgomery as she also swam a 'B' standard time of 51.52 to place third.Â

The first NSIC All-Conference swim of the evening came from
Angelina Chan in the 100-yard IM. She touched the wall in 58.67 to finish as the runner-up in the event. Gaining valuable points was Nesrin Jelliti in the event as she just missed all-conference honors while placing fourth in 58.93.Â

Augustana had back-to-back finishes in the 200 backstroke as Ella Ward-Zellar claimed third place and
Cailey Scott fourth place. Ward-Zellar finished in 2:04.91 flat while Scott's time was 2:05 flat.
Nathalia Silva placed eighth in the event giving Augustana three swimmers on the final podium.Â

In the 200 breaststroke, Jelliti narrowly missed all-conference accolades as she timed in at 2:22.41 to place fourth.Â

The Vikings' 400-freestyle relay nearly swam the pool out of water as it won by almost five seconds with its time of 3:25.93. Second place St. Cloud State timed in at 3:29.14. Augustana's B relay team in the event also garnered much-needed points to push the Vikings to victory as the squad of
Makoa Montgomery,
Libby Breckon,
Anna Tindall and
Maija Kangas timed in at 3:31.55 to place fifth.Â

Augustana had three divers compete in the 3-meter diving with
Kate Robbins finishing 10th with 365.25 points. In 13th,
Clare Duplissis totaled 352.10 points. Swimmer, turned diver,
Hailey Handevidt recorded 279.05 points for AU.Â
