WEST FARGO, N.D. – The Augustana women's swimming & diving squad saw one NSIC Champion and two NSIC All-Conference placements on the second day of the NSIC Championships. The Vikings lead the NSIC Championships after two days of competition with 490 points. Minnesota State is in second place with 459 points while St. Cloud State is third with 400 points.
The 400 medley relay squad of Bryn Greenwaldt, Angelina Chan, Meesha Montgomery and Nesrine Jelliti became NSIC Champions following their first place finish in the event. The group finished the relay in a time of 3:47.20 picking up the Vikings third NSIC Champion this week so far.
The Vikings saw success again in Libby Breckon who garnered her second NSIC All-Conference placement of the week. Breckon finished third in the 200 free swimming in a time of 1:53.06 to garner an NCAA 'B' cut time.
Maija Kangas was the final Viking today to claim an NSIC All-Conference mark. Kangas staked her claim in the 400 individual medley, finding a second place finish with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 4:28.96.
The Augustana diving squad opened its day at the NSIC Championships. Clare Duplissis garnered a ninth place finish in the prelims with a total of 361.20 points to lead AU.
"What a fun day of competition," said head coach Lindsie Micko. "Our divers started our scoring on 1 meter with outstanding performances.
"Swimming was fun and exciting today. We were led by a couple of NCAA 'B' cuts and finished with an exciting win in the medley relay. Day three should bring even more excitement."

The Viking women return to the races tomorrow to face day three of the NSIC Championships in West Fargo, North Dakota. The preliminary round begins at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 5:30 p.m.
