RALEIGH, N.C. – Augustana outdoor track and field's Patty Jo English and Colten Brand competed against top Division I competitors at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina, hosted by NC State this weekend. 

Brand opened the outdoor portion of the Vikings season on Thursday. Brand raced in the 1500 meter run clocking in a personal best time of 3:49.59 just .13 seconds shy of an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. His time moves him up to the number eight slot in the Augustana top-10 list. 

English took the track on Friday racing in the 1500 meter run to begin her outdoor campaign. She strode through the finish line in a time of 4:27.43 grasping an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. English was just the third runner among division II finishers in the event.

The rest of the Viking squad will begin their outdoor season debut next Saturday at Wartburg in Waverly, Iowa.
