BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The NSIC Champion Augustana softball team led the NSIC with eight all-conference selections, including seven on the first team, the league announced Tuesday. The teams are highlighted by the NSIC Player of the Year
Torri Chute, Freshman of the Year
Andrea Cain and Newcomer of the Year

Torri Chute
- Led NSIC with a .524 average over the 28-game NSIC season
- Posted a league-best .917 slugging percentage after recording nine doubles and eight home runs as part of her 44 hits
- For the season, hit at a .453 clip
- Helped Augustana to its third-straight NSIC Championship
- Is the third Viking to earn NSIC Player of the Year, joining Sarah Kennedy (2015/17) and Kendall Cornick (2021)

Andrea Cain
- Ranked seventh in the NSIC with her .429 batting average during the NSIC season
- Ranked second in the NSIC with four triples
- Totaled six triples on the season
- Recorded a school-record two triples in one game when she achieved the feat on April 11 against Sioux Falls
- Helped Augustana to its third-straight NSIC Championship
- Is the sixth Viking to earn the NSIC Freshman of the Year

Lexi Lander
- Posted a 2.00 ERA while pitching to an 11-3 NSIC record
- Pitched a seven-inning perfect game on April 2 against Minnesota State
- Held NSIC opponents to a .189 batting average, second best in the league
- Helped Augustana to its third-straight NSIC Championship
- Is the third Viking to earn NSIC Newcomer of the Year joining Lexy Pederson (2017) and
Abby Lien (2021)

In addition to the major award winners, the Vikings saw
Kennedy Buckman,
Liz Dierks,
Abby Lien and
Delaney Young named to the first team.

Buckman, a junior, led the lead with 20 total home runs. During the NSIC season, she batted .429 with 39 RBI. Dierks, a sophomore, earned her first all-conference accolade while also earning a spot on the Gold Glove Team. She batted .400 over the 28-game NSIC season and recorded 13 doubles and seven home runs over the same span.

Lien, completing her final season of eligibility, had her best season at the plate with a .386 average while belting seven home runs within conference action. Young, Augustana's all-time leader in fielding percentage, earns her spot on the first team for the second-straight season after ranking second in the NSIC with a .474 average. In NSIC play over 28 games and 76 at-bats, she struck out just once.

On the second team,
Hailey Houston earns her first all-conference accolade in her sophomore season. She posted an 11-2 record within league play while striking out 64 batters in 78 innings pitched.
