PUEBLO, Colo. -- Augustana track & field's Andrew Martens collected a First Team All-America finish in the 110m hurdles on the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships Saturday. Martens' collected a new personal best and school record for the fourth time this season in the event.Â
"We are super proud of our finish at the NCAA Championships," said Director of Track & Field, Tracy Hellman. "It's been an outstanding year and we finished with some great results."
Martens' claimed his All-America finish in the 110-meter hurdles taking hold of a fifth place finish in a time of 13.68. His time today beats his previous personal best of 13.82 by .14 of a second, a time in which he claimed on Friday in the preliminaries of the NCAA Championships.Â
Following the men's 110m hurdles, was Patty Jo English and Megan Means in the women's 5,000m. The pair held strong in the middle of the pack collecting a 17th place finish from English and 20th place finish from Means. English claimed her finish in a time of 17:29.39 while Means crossed the finish line in a time of 17:36.07.Â
"Highlighting the meet was Andrew Martens performance in the 110-meter hurdles," added Hellman. "Seniors Patty Jo English and Megan Means finish their storied careers at the NCAA Championships. Overall, it was a great day to be a Viking!"
