SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana swimming & diving teams open their 2023-24 season Thursday with a tri-meet at the Midco Aquatic Center. The reigning NSIC Champion women's team will compete with St. Cloud State and Sioux Falls while the Viking men will compete with St. Cloud State. The meet is slated to begin at 4 p.m. with diving at 2 p.m.

The Augustana men's team returns every record holder for the program including All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honoree
Pedro Borin. The junior has earned a pair of All-GLIAC honors in the 200-yard butterfly. Borin swam a trio of NCAA Division II 'B' qualifying standards last season, the 50-free, 100-fly and 200-fly.

In addition, the men's team returns
Lui Gabriel Pinto, a junior who owns a pair of school records in the 200-free and 500-free. On the diving side, Caden Kavanagh is back after owning 360.55 points on the 1-meter and 375.05 points on the 3-meter dives.

The Viking women's team was picked to repeat as the NSIC Champion with NSIC Swimmer of the Year
Bryn Greenwaldt back for her sophomore season. The national runner-up in the 50-free was then named the Preseason NSIC Swimmer of the Year.

Kate Robbins, the school record holder on the diving boards, is back for her junior season with 222.25 points on six dives and 365.25 points on 11 dives.

Augustana tallies 10 regular season events on the 2023-24 schedule with duals against South Dakota State on Oct. 6 and St. Thomas on Oct. 7 next on the schedule.
