Women's Basketball Hosts Mount Marty on New Year's Eve

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In its final contest of the 2024 calendar year, Augustana women's basketball (1-11 overall, 0-7 NSIC) will face Mount Marty in a 4 p.m. game on Tuesday afternoon inside the Elmen Center

THE LANCERS
Mount Marty currently holds a 6-7 record on the season while sitting 0-7 so far within its Great Plain Athletic Conference schedule. They most recently fell 72-50 to Morningside University while also holding their own against South Dakota in a 78-74 exhibition loss.
 
Sidney Thue currently leads the way in scoring, averaging 11.4 points per game while Stevi Falls is close behind at 10.2 points per game. Thue also leads with 7.7 rebounds/game, 1.9 steals/game and 1.2 blocks/game while Kaela Martinez is dishing 3.0 assists/game.
 
THE VIKINGS
Augustana returns home following losses to Southwest Minnesota State at home (77-57) and Wayne State on the road (62-55). The recent games push the Vikings to a 1-11 overall record so far this season with a 0-7 conference showing.
 
Hannah Burg and Olivia Hayenga led scoring for the Vikings, each averaging 11.2 points per game. Payton Hardy continues to clean the glass for AU, adding in 6.3 rebounds/game while Burg dishes out 4.0 assists/game and Brinlee McRae has 1.8 steals/game.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Augustana holds the series advantage all-time against Mount Marty with a 18-5 record. The last matchup resulted in an 81-45 victory for the Vikings at home on Dec. 19, 2022.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Augustana will hit the road for a weekend of NSIC contests, facing St. Cloud State at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Bemidji State at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
