WICHITA, Kan. - Four Augustana wrestlers earned All-American status, while two are still alive for national titles following the first day of the NCAA DII National Championships. Four is the most All-Americans for the Vikings since 2011.

At 125, Jaxson Rohman dominated to earn his second consecutive All-American honor in his third NCAA Tournament. The junior opened the day with a first period pin over Jacob Tangpricha of Central Missouri in the first round. He then knocked off Dayson Torgerson of Colorado Mesa 11-4 to earn his spot in the semifinals.

Also moving on to the semifinals is 285 pounder Zach Peterson. Peterson sent shockwaves throughout the city of Wichita when he knocked off top-seeded Francesco Borsellino of West Liberty in sudden victory to start his run. He kept it rolling in the quarterfinals, earning All-American status for the first time in his career after another sudden victory, this time over No. 8 Taniela Feliciano-Takafua of Simon Fraser. 

Hunter Burnett became an All-American the hard way, dropping his second match of the day before earning a victory in the consolation rounds. The redshirt senior started his day with a 8-1 sudden victory over Khyvon Grace of West Liberty. After dropping his quarterfinal match by a narrow margin, Burnett bounced back in a big way, earning a decision in the second consolation round to earn his second career All-American honor. 

Rounding out the All-Americans for Augustana was 197 pound Max Ramberg. Ramberg went 2-1 on the day for his first career All-American honor. He used a dominant third period to finish off a comeback victory in the first round and then fell to No. 2 Derek Blubaugh of UIndy in the quarterfinals. He left little doubt of his status in the consolation second round, earning a 12-6 victory over Nicholas Johnson of Glenville State to secure his spot in tomorrow's action. 

Cael Larson fell in the first round before defeating No. 1-seeded Christian Small of Lake Erie in the first round of the consolation bracket. Larson fought to the end in his final match, ultimately losing by decision after a lengthy review to end his tournament. Cade Mueller earned a pair of wins in the prelims and the first round of the consolation bracket on his way to a 2-2 finish.
