PITTSBURG, Kan. – Augustana men's track & field athletes
Ryan Hartman and
Andrew Martens competed amongst the best in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Robert W. Plaster Center Friday.
Martens kicked off the championships as he competed in the men's 60m hurdles preliminaries in Heat 1. Martens ran to his second-best time ever of 7.90 and just missed the finals cut as he placed ninth. The junior sprinter finished the indoor season as a Second Team All-America honoree.Â
Hartman finished the day for the Vikings with a 16th-place finish in the men's 5000m. Hartman has been a strong runner throughout the season, as he collected the South Dakota Colligete Record earlier this season at the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.Â
Augustana now shifts its momentum to the outdoor season with the first meet slated for April 5-6 in Vermillion, South Dakota at the USD Early Bird Invitational.Â
