BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Augustana men's golf came out swinging on the first day of the NSIC Championships with Emmet Hansen tied for first place with a nice round of 69. The Vikings pulled together a score of 297 for second place, edging out Winona State by two strokes.

How It Happened 

• Hansen pulled together a stroke count of 69 and is tied for first place. The junior Viking sank a tournament-high six birdies and led the board on Par-4s with an average stroke of 3.70. 
• Will Allen sits 12th in the tournament with a day one score of 75. Allen sank 12 pars and two birdies. 
• Jacob Stewart joined Allen in 12th place with a score of 75 after he pulled together nine pars and three birdies. 
• Spencer Wittstruck and Cullen Johnson tallied stroke counts of 78 and 87 to round out the Viking finishers. 
• Throughout day one, Augustana holds a total count of 46 pars and 13 birdies. 
• The Vikings shot an average score of plus-1 when faced against Par-5s
