EMPORIA, Kan. – Aubrey Surage of Augustana women's track and field placed 10th in the women's 10,000m Thursday night to finish off the first day of the NCAA DII National Championships. 

Surage was the first Viking to take part in the National Championships. After a weather delay pushed them to a 10:05 p.m. start, she finished the 10,000m race with a time of 36:02.06 and finished 10th. Her 10th place finish garnered Second Team All-America. 

She quickly made her way through the pack and sat 13th at the 7600m mark with a time of 27:17.37. She rounded the 9600m mark and passed Kaela Dishion from Stanislaus State to take 11th. In the final dash to the finish line, she passed Madison Clay from Catawba to finish 10th.
