BROOKINGS, S.D. – Augustana track and field concluded a weekend on the track up at South Dakota State, accruing numerous top 10 finishes with two individual event titles and a broken school record.
Action began on Friday, where
Trent DeCook won the men's 200-meter dash with a clocking of 21.89 while on the women's side,
Caitlin Ostbye claimed 10
th in a personal-best 26.02.
Ella Bakken added to the success in the women's 5000-meter run, clocking a 16:58.87 for a third-place finish.
Action resumed on Saturday and continued with fast-paced, high-placing finishes from the Vikings.
Lily Juhnke qualified for the women's 60-meter dash finals and finished third in 7.62. She also added in a first-place finish in the Saturday 200-meter dash with a PR of 25.20 to lead a group of five Vikings to the top-10.
Jennifer Noutsougan came sixth (25.90),
Maia Peterson was seventh (25.90),
Ella Heinitz took ninth (25.91) and
Kylee Sallee finished 10
th (25.92, PR).
Jude Jarding ran a personal-best 48.86 for fifth place in the men's 400-meter dash and
Nyanas Kur earned runner-up on the women's side with a time of 55.22. Her clocking is a new personal best and a new Augustana school record in the event.
Sydnee Serck and
Caroline Sudbeck each took top-five finishes in the 600-meter run, finishing second in 1:35.20 (PR) and fourth in 1:35.76, respectively.
Ethan Boyens was seventh in the men's 600-meter, running a 1:21.81.
In the men's 1000-meter run,
Payton Brown ran a personal best of 2:30.05 for fourth place while over in the women's mile, Bakken came eighth in 4:57.11 for a new PR.
Ellen Merkley took eighth in the long jump with a mark of 17-01.25 as Sallee tied for sixth in the high jump with her height of 5-02.25.

Augustana track and field will return to Brookings for the SDSU Last Chance on Friday, Feb. 21., the final meet on the schedule before the NSIC Championships.
