4/2/2025 4:45:00 PM

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana wrestling head coach Jason Reitmeier announced the addition of three commits to the 2025-26 signing class on Wednesday, with Aidan Mattison, Austin Scranton and Trayton Weiss set to join the Vikings next season.

Aidan Mattison | 197 pounds | Marshall, Minn. | Marshall High School
High School: While serving as team captain his senior season, Aidan is a four-year starter and letterwinner for the Tigers. He tallied 21 pins alongside a state qualification bid his senior season and accrued a 115-75 career record with 74 career pins while adding in all-conference honors in his last three seasons.

Personal: Aidan is the son of Carey and Megan Mattison and plans to obtain a degree in Communications Disorders during his time at Augustana

Coach Reitmeier on Mattison: "Excited to have Aidan coming in next fall. We needed to add depth to the upper weights and Aidan helped fill that need. Aidan comes from a highly successful program and has competed against great competition. So, he won't be surprised by the great competition in the NSIC."
Austin Scranton | 184 pounds | Anamosa, Iowa | Anamosa High School
High School: A four-year letterwinner, starter and team captain for the Raiders, Austin ended his senior season with a 52-2 record capped by a state championship title. He's accrued four conference titles through his career—including an undefeated 49-0 junior season—and has twice been named conference wrestler of the year.

Personal: Austin is the son of Aimee and Jonathan Scranton and plans to major in Physical Therapy while at Augustana

Coach Reitmeier on Scranton: "We are really excited to have Austin coming in with our 2025 class. We were looking to add quality to our upper weights and that's exactly what Austin does! Austin is a great athlete and an exceptional wrestler. He brings an attacking style from all positions, looking to score all the time. Austin is an 184lbs but has a frame that could grow into 197. Excited to work with this exceptional student-athlete."
Trayton Weiss | 133 pounds | Custer, S.D. | Custer High School
High School: Trayton is a four-time letterwinner and starter who recently claimed a state title behind a 53-2 record in his senior season. He's collected four all-conference honors, four conference and region championships and two state tournament crowns while eclipsing the 50+ wins mark in three of his four high school seasons.

Personal: Trayton is the son of Nicole and Thad Weiss and plans to earn a degree in Psychology at Augustana

Coach Reitmeier on Weiss: "Excited to welcome Trayton and his family to our program! Trayton is another talented incoming freshman that brings a fun and exciting style. Trayton is good in all positions, tough and scrappy! I can't wait to get Trayton in our room. Trayton is also an exceptional student who fits our program well."
