NEW ORLEANS – Augustana track and field's men's distance medley relay earned national honors as they were named the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II National Athletes of the Week.  
 
The squad of Payton Brown, Jude Jarding, Tyson Ricker and Ryan Hartman clocked a 9:49.64 in the DMR to win the event at the Drake Relays and earn the top spot on the podium with the iconic white flags.
 
That time also broke records, as it is now the fastest clocking in school history. Two Vikings ran a leg on the previous best relay—Ricker and Hartman—and are now members of the newly minted fastest relay team in Augustana history.

This marks the first time in program history that an athlete from Augustana has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season.
 
Augustana will return to action this week at the USD Tune Up on Friday.
