BURNSVILLE, Minn. –
Fernanda Sandoval of Vikings women's tennis was named NSIC Freshman of the Year while while multiple Vikings earned All-Conference honors, announced by the NSIC Tuesday morning.
Sandoval was named NSIC Freshman of the Year after holding a singles record of 17-2. Sandoval went 9-1 from No. 2 singles and 8-1 from No. 3 singles. She held a 13-4 doubles record from the No. 1 spot in doubles play. Sandoval went 9-0 during singles play from the No. 2 and 3 slots during conference play.Â
Nicole Dufour,
Gabriela Jancikova, and Sandoval rounded out first-team singles honors while
Mia Garcia,
Smilte Bakyte and
Chelsea Seidewitz garnered second-team singles honors.
Dufour, Sandoval, Jancikova and Seidewitz all earned first-team honors in doubles.Â
The Vikings went 17-4 on the season and ride an 11-match win streak into Tuesday's regional match against Northwest Missouri State. In conference play, Augustana went 9-0 en route to its 15th straight regular-season championship and 14th straight NSIC Title.
