Women's Basketball Aims To Continue Building On The Road

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's basketball team looks to build on a successful start to 2026, first against MSU Moorhead on Friday before a Saturday matchup against Minnesota Crookston. Tip-off against the Dragons is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday before a 3:30 p.m., matchup on Saturday against the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles
Minnesota Crookston was selected to finish 11th in the NSIC and 6th in the North Division. The Golden Eagles are 3-13 overall and 2-8 in the NSIC. Emma Miller leads the Golden Eagles in scoring averaging 19.7 points per game. Miller and Rayna Klejeski lead the team in rebound with 5.4 rebounds per game. Klejeski adds 11.2 points per game.

The Dragons
MSU Moorhead was selected to finish 7th overall and 1st in the North Division. The Dragons are 8-6 overall and 5-5 in the NSIC. Terryn Johnson leads the Dragons in scoring with 13 points per games. Johnson also leads the team in rebounds with 6.8 per game. Ashton Safranski leads the team in assists per game with 4.9 while adding 10.5 points per game for the Dragons.

Series History
Augustana is 20-14 all-time against MSU Moorhead. The Vikings are 7-7 on the road against the Dragons. In just 25 meetings, Augustana is 22-3 all-time with a win streak of 8 games. The Vikings are 10-2 when playing the Golden Eagles on the road.

Last Time Out
The Vikings fell 88-47 to the Northern State Wolves on Saturday. Again, Isabella Sanneh found herself at the top of the scoring column for the Vikings ending her night with 14 points and nine rebounds. Addie Hanna added six points shooting 2 for 3 beyond the arc. Maliyah Elliott also added six points while Ava Pautz contributed five.

The Vikings
Augustana is 6-10 overall with a pair of overtime losses and a 3-7 conference record.

In the last two games, Isabella Sanneh has proved to be the Vikings most consistent player averaging 16 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game. Addie Hanna was the next top average scorer with 8.5 points per game and Maliyah Elliott averaging 8 points per game. Sanneh grabbed herself yet another double double against Jamestown scoring 18 points and securing 14 rebounds.

Sanneh still leads the team overall in scoring with 14.5 points per game. She also leads the Vikings in rebounds with 10.1 per game.

Kristin Edmonds has been consistent in putting up points for the Vikings averaging 9 points per game on the season. Edmonds is a huge asset behind the arc securing 36 3-pointers and shooting at .379. Maliyah Elliott and Payton Hardy also remain consistent scoring 7.5 and 8.7 points per game, respectively. Hardy adds 6.1 rebounds per game for the Vikings.

Looking Ahead 
Augustana will stay on the road for games against Minot State on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and then against UMary at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
