Vikings Have 11 On USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS -- The Augustana cross country squad saw 11 student-athletes named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team with individual honors announced earlier this week. Both programs were also named as USTFCCCA All-Academic teams. 

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.

The men's team garnered six all-academic selections with Isaiah Anderson (Exercise Science) joined by Kadin Groen (Fintech, Finance), Bryant Keller (Exercise Science, Fitness Management), Tyson Ricker (Nursing), Alex Schumacher (Exercise Science) and Peyton Willbanks (Engineering Physics).

The men's team compiled a team GPA of 3.42.

The women's team collected five all-academic athletes in Abby Cutler (Communication Disorders), Ramsey Karim (Exercise Science), Kaelyn Nelson (Exercise Science), Tenley Nelson (All-Grades Education) and Ally Sample (Elementary Education). 

As a team, the women compiled a 3.79 GPA, tied for seventh in the nation.

The Augustana cross country team recently finished another very sucessful season with the women ending their season at the NCAA Central Regional and the men placing 23rd at the NCAA Championships.
