Women's Basketball Returns Home For MSU and SCSU

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's basketball team begins a stretch of three home games over its final two weekends, hosting No. 1 Minnesota State and St. Cloud State in the Elmen Center on Thursday and Saturday. The Vikings will take on the Mavericks at 5:30 p.m., on Thursday before a 1:30 p.m., Saturday matchup against the Huskies.

The Mavericks 
Minnesota State was selected to finish first overall and first in the South Division.The Mavericks are 24-0 overall and 18-0 in the NSIC. Natalie Bremer leads the Mavericks with 21 points per game while adding 4.3 rebounds. Ava Stier grabs 5.5 rebounds per game for a team high and 8.7 points per game. Elisabeth Gadient provides 12.7 points per game and Mackenzie Schweim has 11.3 per game. 

The Huskies 
St. Cloud State was selected to finish fifth overall and fourth in the South Division. The Huskies are 11-12 overall and 8-10 in the NSIC. Jada Eggebrecht leads the Huskies in scoring with 14.3 points per game, followed by Alana Zarneke with 11.3 per game. Rachel Kottke averages 5.5 rebounds per game for a team high. 

Series History 
Augustana is 51-36 all-time against Minnesota State. The Vikings are 27-15 at home against the Mavericks. In 73 meetings, Augustana is 38-35 all-time against St. Cloud State. The Vikings are 21-9 when playing the Huskies at home. 

Last Time Out 
The Vikings fell to Winona State 82-49 on the road. 

Ava Pautz led the Vikings with 15 points going 3-4 beyond the arc. Isabella Sanneh snagged 14 points and six rebounds while Miranda Lomax added eight points and five rebounds. 

The Vikings 
The Vikings are 9-15 overall with a pair of overtime losses and a 6-12 conference record. 

In the last two games, Isabella Sanneh led the Vikings in scoring with 14.0 points per game and in rebounds with 6.5 per game. Miranda Lomax averaged 12.0 points per game and 3.5 rebounds. Ava Pautz grabbed 11.5 points per game with 4.5 rebounds per game. 

Sanneh continues to be a powerhouse for the Vikings in the points column averaging 14.7 per game on the season along with 9.6 rebounds per game for a team high. Ava Pautz has been consistent for the Vikings since starting the last six games, averaging 6.4 points per game on the season. Payton Hardy remains consistent on the defensive side averaging 5.3 rebounds per game while also averaging 7.1 points per game. 

Kristin Edmonds has been consistent in putting up points for the Vikings averaging 7.8 points per game on the season. Edmonds is a huge asset beyond the arc, securing 42 3-pointers and shooting at .331.
