Women's Basketball Looks To Carry Success Back Into South Division

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's basketball team returns to South Division action following a weekend sweep. They will be back on the road against Concordia-St. Paul and Winona State. Tip-off against the Golden Bears is set for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday before a 2 p.m., matchup on Saturday against the Warriors.

The Golden Bears 
Concordia-St. Paul was selected to finish second overall and second in the South Division. The Golden Bears are 15-6 overall and 11-5 in the NSIC. Lauren Wilson leads CSP in scoring with 18.8 points per game. Lydia Haack is not far behind with 18.4 points per game. Haack adds 6.4 assists per game while Wilson adds 9.0 rebounds per game. 

The Warriors 
Winona State was selected to finish 12th overall and sixth in the South Division. The Warriors are 13-9 overall and 10-6 in the NSIC. Hailey Markworth leads WSU in scoring with 16.6 points per game. Markworth also leads the team in rebounds along with Megan Schuman with 6.5 per game. Vivica Bretton leads the pass game for the Warriors averaging 3.4 assists per game. 

Series History 
Augustana is 22-19 all-time against Concordia-St. Paul. The Vikings are 6-12 on the road against the Golden Bears. In 50 meetings, Augustana is 35-15 all-time against Winona State. The Vikings are 15-7 when playing the Warriors on the road. 

Last Time Out 
The Vikings took down Minnesota Duluth 57-56 after a last second shot from Maliyah Elliott.

Isabella Sanneh led the Vikings in scoring and rebounds with 23 points and seven rebounds. Miranda Lomax added 12 points and Maliyah Elliott had eight. Payton Hardy collected six steals in the game. 

The Vikings 
The Vikings are 9-13 overall with a pair of overtime losses and a 6-10 conference record.

In the last two games, Isabella Sanneh averaged 20.5 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game. She grabbed a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds against Bemidji State. Miranda Lomax averaged 10.0 points per game while Ava Pautz added 9.5 points per game.

Sanneh continues to be a powerhouse for the Vikings in the points column averaging 14.7 per game on the season along with 9.9 rebounds per game for a team high. Ava Pautz has been consistent for the Vikings since starting the last four games, averaging 9.3 points per game. Payton Hardy remains consistent on the defensive side averaging 5.6 rebounds per game while also averaging 7.6 points per game.

Kristin Edmonds has been consistent in putting up points for the Vikings averaging 8.0 points per game on the season. Edmonds is a huge asset behind the arc securing 41 3-pointers and shooting at .331.
