SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - In his final NCAA run,
Max Ramberg will compete for a national title.
The three-time All-America honoree earned a victory in the 197-pound semifinals on Saturday morning, knocking off fifth-seeded Logan Kvien of McKendree by major decision.
Ramberg got on the board in the first period, recording a takedown with 14 seconds left to take a 3-0 lead. He would go on to ride out the second period while each wrestler earned a stall warning to lead into the final frame. He would get an escape and secure a riding point in the third and rolled out of a headlock late, earning one final takedown to finish off an 8-0 win.
His storied career will come to a close on Saturday night, taking on Nicholas Johnson of Glenville State in the final. The championship session is slated to begin at 125 pounds at 7 p.m.
