SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana University women's basketball team will be on the road for their next two contests as they travel to Chadron, Neb. on Friday to take on Chadron State and Wayne, Neb. to open NSIC play against Wayne State College Nov. 23. The game against Chadron is set for a 7 p.m. tip-off while the game against Wayne State is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Vikings are coming off an opening weekend of notable victories over Northwest Missouri State and the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Augustana defeated Northwest Missouri State in their season opener Nov. 13, 89-52. The Vikings spread out the scoring against the Bearcats with three individuals with 13 points, all game-highs. Most importantly they got 48 points from their bench and 58 points came from freshman and sophomores. The Vikings followed up their win Friday night with another win over the Lopers, 82-63.
Nicole Kerkhoff had a game-high 22 points with four rebounds. The Vikings had four different athletes score in double-digits.
Augustana is heading to Chadron, Neb. with an all-time record of 6-1 against the Eagles. These two teams met a year ago in Sioux Falls with Augustana coming away victorious 85-51. Chadron has only played one game this season, an 81-53 loss to Division I, University of Wyoming. When the Vikings make their way to Wayne, Neb. they will be taking an 18-14 all-time record against the Wildcats with them. The two teams met twice a year ago splitting the season series. Wayne State won the first match-up 71-57 in Sioux Falls on Nov. 24 but Augustana got revenge in Wayne on Dec. 20, beating the Wildcats 68-60.
