Women's basketball opens NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament hosting UMD

Storylines and history
• Augustana opens up Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Sanford Health Women's Basketball Tournament play this week.
• The Vikings, the South Division's No. 4 seed, will host the North Division's No. 5 seed Minnesota Duluth on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
• The game will be played at the Sioux Falls Arena.
• Augustana leads the all-time series 15-9.
• The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings, including a 73-68 win earlier this season back on Jan. 17.
• The Vikings have an 11-0 record at home in the all-time series against UMD.
• Minnesota Duluth has won three of the last five meetings between the two teams.
• Augustana currently sits 10th in the NCAA Central Region rankings, the top eight teams advance to the NCAA Tournament.

• This is the seventh year that the Vikings have been in the NSIC Tournament.

• The Vikings locked up the No. 4 seed in the South Division thanks to a big 2-0 road trip this past weekend.
• Augustana got things rolling on Friday in a 61-44 win at Upper Iowa.
Shaunteva Ashley and Nicole Kerkhoff led the Vikings with 15 points each.
• The 44 points allowed were a new season low for Augustana.
Sophie Kenney added 12 points.
• Ashley erupted for 30 points in the finale at Winona State on Saturday, an 83-65 win.
• It was the first time this season that the Warriors had lost at home.
Logan O'Farrell showcased her defensive abilities, grabbing a season-high 12 rebounds to go along with 2 blocks and a steal.
Sydney Rome continued her great play, scoring a season-high 18 points (all coming from behind the 3-point line).
