SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana College sophomore 
Irene Almarcha set a new school record while senior 
Adam Braun provisionally qualified at the Vance Butler Memorial Invitational at Howard Wood Field on Friday.
Braun opened the day for Augustana provisionally qualifying with a time of 9:19.88 in the men's steeplechase to place second overall.
Almarcha dominated the women's 100-meter hurdles, finishing with the top mark and set a new school record with a time of 13.99 seconds. 
Calliann Brunswig also competed in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.15 for seventh-place.
Emma Anderson blew up the women's 800-meter run taking the title with nobody coming close to the junior finishing with a time of 2:19.76. On the men's side, 
Zach Tuschen took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.74.
Kayla Mescher doubled up on event, placing first in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.40 and running a leg on the 4x400-meter relay team. Mescher teamed up with 
Anne Parsley, 
Charissa Etrheim, and 
Carina Hofmeister for a 3:57.57 combined 1,600 meters for a second-place finish.
The men's 4x100 relay squad of 
Ryan Heuer, 
Justin Greenway, 
Jason Greenway, and 
Jonathan Wolverton took the top mark with a time of 43.73, while the women's squad of Brunswig, Hofmeister, Almarcha, and 
Laura Popanz clocked a time of 49.82 in the women's 4x100 relay for third-place.
Kaitlyn Yoerg took third place in the women's 1500-meter run with a time of 4:51.13, followed by teammate 
Megan Brown taking ninth with a time of 5:05.71. On the men's side, 
Austin Krohnke clocked a time of 4:15.18 for a thirteen-place finish in the 1500-meter run.
Parsley took second place in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 59.33. Etrheim placed ninth in 1:01.34, while 
Emma Schmidt rounded-out the Vikings placing 14th.
Augustana's quartet of hurdlers each collected top-six places on Friday. Heuer led the way in the 110-meter hurdles, placing fourth (14.90 seconds) with 
Dylon Van't Hof right behind him in sixth (15.30). Van't Hof earned a fourth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.95 seconds while Heuer took sixth in 57.41. 
Zach Jones placed eighth with a time of 58.20.
Hofmeister placed second in the 100-meter dash clocking a 12.25-second run down the straightaway. Brothers [Justin] Greenway and [Jason] Greenway competed in the men's 100-meter dash placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
Kelsey Kaufmann also turned in an impressive performance in the women's high jump, earning runner up honors. The junior from Arlington, S.D. recorded a best leap of 1.63 meters (5 feet, 4.25 inches). 
Mason Ford was the only Vikings to compete in the men's high jump taking fifth with a clearance of 1.85 meters.
Three Vikings finished in the top 10 in the women's triple jump. 
Kaylynn Erlandson led the Augustana with a leap of 10.82 meters for a sixth-place finish. 
Coley Stoller and 
Kirsten Noska took eighth and ninth, respectively.
Anthony Huber competed in the men's discus throw, taking fifth with a heave of 45.93 meters. 
Kristi Porter placed fifth in the women's javelin throw with a best mark of 33.41 meters.
CJ Ham notched another top-five finish after taking fourth in the men's hammer throw on Thursday. The Duluth, Minn. native took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 15.25 meters from the circle.
The Vikings return to action next weekend traveling to Orange City, Iowa for the Red Raider Open.
