SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana University volleyball is set to begin its 43rd season in program history this Friday and Saturday in Topeka, Kan. at the Ichabod Invitational. The Vikings enter the season under the direction of first-year head coach,
Dan Meske.
The 2015 season will begin at 1 p.m. against Pittsburg State followed by a match-up against tournament-host Washburn University, at 6:30 p.m. The Vikings will round-out the weekend tournament on Saturday against Emporia State at 9:30 a.m. and Missouri Southern State at 1:30 p.m.
Augustana returns ALL-NSIC performer,
Ashley Wilson who finished last season with 115 total blocks, which was good for fifth in the conference. Wilson was also picked by the NSIC as the "Player to Watch" from Augustana. The Vikings also bring back a plethora of experience that includes 11 letterwinners from a season ago.
The Vikings will enter Topeka with an overall winning record of 9-2 against their four opponents, with the two loses at the hands of Pitt State and Washburn.
