Augustana women's basketball ready for road test against North's best

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana University women's basketball team will be on the road for the next two weekends. This weekend the Vikings travel north to take on Northern State and MSU Moorhead in a battle of top teams in the NSIC. Tip-off against the Wolves of Northern State is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. tip on Saturday against MSU Moorhead.

THE STARTING FIVE
• Augustana begins their longest road trip of the 2015-16 season this week when they travel to Northern State and MSU Moorhead. The second part of the two week road trip will include a trip to Marshall, Minn. and Sioux Falls University
• In his 27th season at the helm of the Augustana University Vikings, head coach Dave Krauth is nearing another milestone in his legendary career. This past weekend Krauth earned his 546th and 547th career victories and is now just three wins away from earning his 550th career victory
• Redshirt junior Sydney Rome had a stellar weekend at home against U-Mary and Minot State. Rome tied a career-high in points against U-Mary with 20 while averaging 16-points for the weekend. Rome added eight assists, six steals and five rebounds to her weekly totals
• The two Viking seniors have played a huge part in Augustana's success this season. Guard Sophie Kenney has averaged 10.5 points per game, her highest career average, while also averaging 4.7 assists per game. Kenney eclipsed 100 assists on the season against U-Mary when she had a season-high eight assists. Forward Nicole Kerkhoff is averaging 11.5 points per game while averaging 6.7 rebounds per game. Kerkhoff is just three rebounds short of 150 for the season and eight points shy of 700 in her career.
• Augustana found a consistent starting lineup this season as their current group of Sophie Kenney, Logan O'Farrell, Sydney Rome, Nicole Kerkhoff and Shelby Selland have started 18 consecutive games   
   
AUGUSTANA AT A GLANCE
• Augustana enters the weekend with a record of 17-5, 11-5 NSIC. Their conference record has the Vikings a game ahead of Wayne State for 3rd in the South Division

• Nicole Kerkhoff and Logan O'Farrell's 11.5 ppg is tied for the 30th best scoring average in the entire conference
• From the free throw line the Vikings are shooting 77% as a team. They have shot 57 free-throws in the last three games making 50
• This two week road trip will be the Vikings longest of the season
• Augustana will be taking on the top two teams in the North this weekend
• In the last three games the Vikings are averaging 85.3 points per game
• The Vikings have scored at least 80-points in 11 of their 11 games this season

NORTHERN STATE AT A GLANCE
• Augustana holds a 24-17 all-time record against NSU
