Augustana women's basketbal to play in NSIC Championship at 7:30 p.m. against USF

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The No. 3 seed Augustana University women's basketball team will take on No. 2 seed University of Sioux Falls in the finals of the NSIC/Sanford Health women's basketball tournament tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanford Pentagon.

AUGUSTANA AT A GLANCE
• The Vikings entered the Finals of the 2016 NSIC/Sanford Health Basketball tournament as the No. 3 seed in the South Division and will face off with South Division No. 2 seed USF
• This will be the third meeting between the two schools this season. Each team was victorious on the other team's home court
• Augustana and USF had split the last four match-ups with no team winning two games in a row
• The last team to win back-to-back games in this rivalry was USF in 2014 and 2015
• Augustana enters the NSIC Finals having beat Minot State (96-75), MSU Moorhead (79-74) and Winona State in overtime (85-84)
• With the win Augustana improves to 2-0 in overtime games this season
• In the NSIC Tournament Sophie Kenney is averaging 20.6 points per game and 7.6 assists per game. She has only turned the ball over five times in the tournament
• Augustana has won 10 of their last 12 games
• The Vikings have not lost two consecutive games this year. This is the first Vikings team to go through a season never losing two games in a row since the 1973-74 team that only played 9 games
• This is Augustana's second appearance in the NSIC Tourney Finals (2012-13)
• The Vikings are 15-3 this season when they get at least 10 steals
Sophie Kenney is ranked 3rd in Division II in assist to turnover ratio at 3.07
• The Viking offense has been one of the best in the country the entire season. Augustana currently ranks 30th in Division II in points per game at 75.1
• Augustana has forced the 46th most turnovers during the 2015-16 season at 564 which is an average of 19.45 turnovers per game forced• Augustana has played in two of the most attended games this season. The most attended game in D2 this season was Northern state and Augie with 4,431 fans. When Augie hosted Mary we had 2,451 fans, the 25th most in Division II this season

USF AT A GLANCE
• USF comes into this contest having beat Minnesota Duluth (66-50), Minnesota Crookston (75-62) and Northern State (71-63)
• USF will be making their first career appearance in the NSIC Championship game
• USF has won five straight games since losing to Augustana 64-54 on senior day
• Senior Taylor Varsho owns the NSIC record for 3-point makes in a season with 87
• USF?currently sits in ninth in the Central Region Rankings
• USF?is 5-3 all-time in the NSIC Tournament and 3-1 in games played at the Pentagon
• Against Northern State only Varsho and Alison Klostergaard reached double-figure scoring
• During their three NSIC Tournament games so far, USF is shooting 40% from the field and 30% from behind the arc
