Women’s basketball set for crucial weekend in conference play as they host No. 18 MSU Moorhead and Northern State

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana University women's basketball team (12-5, 7-3 NSIC) is set for an important weekend in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Vikings will host No. 18 MSU Moorhead on Friday at 6 p.m. and Northern State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
 
Tip-Off
• Augustana enters the weekend with a 12-5 overall record and a 7-3 record in the NSIC
• The Vikings have alternated wins and losses in their last five games
Sydney Rome posted a career-high 25-points against Concordia-St. Paul
Paige Peterson had a season-high 19-points against Minnesota State
• This will be the Vikings last home stand before being on the road for two straight weeks
• Rome moved into ninth on the all-time career 3-point field goals made list at Augustana with 173 in her career. She is six three-pointers away from eighth and seven away from seventh
• Augustana continues to be one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country. They rank third nationally in 3-point attempts with 456 and fifth nationally in 3-point field goals made with 151
• The Vikings take care of the ball ranking sixth nationally in assist to turnover ratio, second in total assists and fifth in assists per game
• They have been a force around the rim defensively, ranking fifth in the country in blocked shots with 86 this season

• Augustana leads the all-time series 16-7 against MSU Moorhead
• When the two teams play in Sioux Falls Augustana is 8-3
• When they play as conference opponents the Vikings are just 4-6
• Augustana has won the last two meetings in the series, the first in an upset victory on the road 74-69 on Feb. 6 and then another upset win in the second round of the NSIC Tournament that ended the Dragons season last year

The game will take place during halftime of the women's and men's basketball games with each halftime being one-half of the Unified Basketball game

A look at MSU Moorhead
• MSU Moorhead enters Friday's contest on a 13-game winning streak. Their only loss of the season came against Harding 54-62 in a neutral site game on opening night
