Tahlyr Banks of the Augustana volleyball team has been awarded NSIC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. It's the Omaha, Neb. native's second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and the fifth of her career.
Banks tallied 20 digs on Friday and 40 digs in the 3-2 win over Upper Iowa on Saturday. She accounted for an NSIC-leading 7.50 digs per set.
Her 485 digs on the season ranks second in the conference and 38th nationally.
The Vikings return to action Tuesday, Oct. 31 when they host Wayne State at 6 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
