SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The conference season rolls on as the 16th-ranked Augustana volleyball team plays host to no. 22 Wayne State for their final midweek match of the regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
The Vikings (18-7, 9-6 NSIC) are coming off of a weekend in which they split their two matches. Augustana dropped last Friday night's match to then 17th-ranked Winona State, 3-0. However, Augie rebounded on Saturday, taking the final two sets of a five-set battle to defeat Upper Iowa, 3-2.
The Wildcats (15-10, 8-7 NSIC) have lost three of their last four matches, including two over the weekend. Upper Iowa rallied from behind to knock off Wayne State last Friday night in Wayne, Neb., winning the last three sets of a five-set fight. Winona State defeated the Wildcats in four sets on Saturday night.

Tahlyr Banks as the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week for the Vikings. It's the Omaha, Neb., native's second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season and the fifth of her career. Banks tallied 20 kills on Friday and 40 kills in the 3-2 win over Upper Iowa on Saturday. She accounted for an NSIC-leading 7.50 digs per set. Her 485 digs on the season ranks second in the conference and 38th nationally.
In Augustana's win over the Peacocks on Saturday, four players recorded career highs. Juniors
Hanna Justesen (21) and
Kaylea Ahrens (18) each tallied career marks in digs while
Courtney Place torched 26 kills. Redshirt freshman
Payton Rosendahl tied a career high with 14 kills. Place ranks second in the NSIC with 363 kills and 22nd nationally.
Alex Banker has racked up the second most assists in the conference with 1,061. That mark from the Omaha, Neb. native is the sixth most in the country.
Senior middle blockers
Ashley Wilson and
Bailey Koch are both in the top-10 in the conference in total blocks. 90 total blocks from Koch is the fifth best in the NSIC while Wilson's 78 owns the eighth best mark.
As for the Wildcats, they lead the conference in total blocks with 221 on the season. Redshirt freshman Jaci Brahmer has the second most blocks in the NSIC with 100 in 2017.
Wayne State's hitting percentage is 0.209 and are allowing opponents to hit just 0.192.
Erin Gross, a senior middle hitter/right side hitter from Tekamah, Neb. leads the Wildcats with 296 kills on 779 attacks.
These two squads met earlier this season in Wayne, with the Wildcats taking the match 3-2. Overall, Augustana holds a 24-20-1 advantage in the all-time series.
