ABERDEEN, S.D. -- Using 12 first place finishes, the Augustana swim team started their weekend off right, picking up another victory over Northern State at the Aberdeen YMCA pool Friday night.
The Vikings, who improved their dual record to 4-2 on the year, defeated the Wolves 166-96. Augustana has taken down Northern State three times this season.
The Vikings won the 400 yard medley relay to get the night started. Sophomore
Jojo Lohner finished first for Augustana, followed by
Micah Hudlet,
Kelsey Gilbert and
Hannah Gonzalez. The Vikings finished the relay with a time of 4:11.81.
Sophomore
Emma Miller finished in first place in two different events for Augustana. In her first event she won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.82 and also won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.45.
Destini Oehlertz, a sophomore out of Laurens, Iowa, took first place in back-to-back events. She won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.41 and 100 yard freestyle in a first place time of 55.19.
Freshman
Micah Hudlet also won multiple events Friday night. She won the 100 yard breastroke in 1:09.78 and the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:32.59.
Augustana returns to action Saturday when they face crosstown rival Sioux Falls at the Midco Aquatic Center at 11 a.m.
