Women’s Basketball Adds Four During Early Signing Period

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. The Augustana University women's basketball program received Letters of Intent from four student-athletes during the opening day of the early signing period, head coach Dave Krauth announced Wednesday.

Aislinn Duffy, Elizabeth Karp, Grace Geffre and Kenzie Rensch have decided to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Vikings and will join the women's basketball program for the start of the 2018-19 season.

"We are extremely pleased to announce our 2017-18 recruiting class," Krauth said. "These four will meet our future positional needs and have the potential to become standout players. They should all make a smooth transition to Augustana and become proud members of the Viking family."
Aislinn Duffy |  Forward/Center | Rapid City, S.D. | St. Thomas More High School
As a four year letterwinner and a three year starter at St. Thomas More, Duffy enters her senior season looking to make an impact on and off the floor. With the Cavaliers, the 6-1 standout has won three Class A State Championships and has helped her team compile a 71-3 record over the last three years. During her junior season, Duffy averaged nine points, six rebounds and two seals per contest and was named to the All-Conference and All-Tournament team. Duffy plans on studying nursing at Augustana.

Elizabeth Karp | Forward/Center | Andover, Minn. | Andover High School
During her junior school season, Karp averaged eight points, 15 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and six assists per game. The two year starter helped guide the Huskies to a North Suburban Conference championship and place sixth in the state tournament. With her summer club team (Crossfire), Karp averaged 12 points and 15 rebounds and was voted the most improved player. A National Honor Society member who carried a 4.16 GPA in high school, Karp looks to make an impact in the classroom while at Augustana and plans on studying biology with hopes of becoming a dentist.

Grace Geffre | Guard | Fargo, N.D. | Fargo Davies High School
Entering her senior season as a three year starter and three year letterwinner, Geffre looks to help her Eagles build off of their 16-5 record and State Tournament appearance during her junior season. As a two sport athlete (Basketball, Swimming) Geffre averaged 17 points-per-game on the basketball court and broke three relay records on the Fargo Davies swim team. As a sophomore the 5-11 guard averaged 15 points a contest and set one individual record and three relay records in the pool. Geffre, a National Honors Society member in high school plans on studying Biology at Augustana with the hopes of getting into medicine.

Kenzie Rensch | Guard | Hutchinson, Minn. | Hutchinson High School
During her junior campaign, Rensch averaged 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals per game. She helped guide the Tigers to a 22-6 record and a conference championship in a year where she earned all-conference honors. Rensch earned all-conference honorable mention during her sophomore campaign, knocking down 6.5 points and snagging 5.6 rebounds per contest. While at Augustana, Kenzie plans on studying nursing.

The Vikings open up their 2017-18 season on Monday, Nov. 13 at home as they host Truman State at 5:30 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
