INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has released the list of participants for the 2017 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Championships are set for May 25-27 and in Bradenton, Fla.
Augustana qualified four student-athletes in six events for the Outdoor Track and Field National Championships next week.
Josh Barrows, a sophomore from Helena, Mont., qualified in the 800-meters and the 400-meter hurdles. Barrows broke the NSIC record in the 400-meter hurdles last weekend during the preliminaries with a time of 52.58, ranking 19th in Division II. In the 800-meters, Barrows recorded a personal best at the Howard Wood Relays with a time of 1:51.18, finishing with the 19th best mark in Division II. Barrows will be making his first appearance to the Outdoor National Championships.
Olivia Montez Brown, a sophomore from Chester, Cheshire, England, also qualified for two events in the long jump and the heptathlon. Montez Brown set the school record in the long jump at the Butler/Greeno Dual with a jump of 20-01, which is good for the 10th best mark in Division II. Montez Brown set the NSIC Record in the heptathlon at the NSIC Multi-Events with a score of 5,140 points, good for sixth in Division II. Montez Brown earned All-American honors in the heptathlon at last year's Outdoor National Championships.
Kelsey Kaufmann, a senior from Arlington, S.D., qualified for the Outdoor National Championships in the high jump for the first time in her career. Kaufman set a personal best in the event at the Drake Relays with a mark of 5-09.25, ranking eighth in Division II.
Valerie Moos, a junior from Sioux Falls, S.D., earned her first trip to the Outdoor National Championships by qualifying in 400-meter hurdles. Moos saved her best performance of the season for last with a school record breaking time of 59.27 at last weekend's NSIC Championships, finishing seventh in Division II.

The NCAA Championships are set to begin on May 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
