BRADENTON, Fla. – The Augustana track and field team concluded its 2016-17 season we two All-Americans on the last day of the NCAA Outdoor National Championships at IMG Academy Stadium in Bradenton, Fla. Olivia Montez Brown earned All-American honors in the heptathlon and Kelsey Kaufmann secured All-American honors in the high jump.

"I'm very proud of our four athletes," assistant coach Greg Binstock said of Augustana's performance over the last two days. "They all competed their hearts out. Kelsey earning All-American honors as a senior was really exciting this afternoon and Olivia earning her second straight All-American honor in the heptathlon was great."

Montez Brown wrapped up her 2017 outdoor season another All-American performance in the heptathlon. Montez Brown earned All-American honors with a fourth place finish in the heptathlon with season's best 5,251 points.

The sophomore from Chester, Cheshire, England, earned her fourth career All-American honor and for the second straight year earned All-American honors in the heptathlon. Montez Brown's other All-American honors came during the 2016-17 indoor season by earning the award in the pentathlon and the long jump.

Montez Brown started day two of the heptathlon by finishing fifth in the long jump with a leap of 18-9. Next, Montez Brown recorded a personal best throw in the javelin with a toss of 116-02 shatter her previous personal best mark of 106-11. To finish the day Montez Brown raced to a time of 2:23.20, finishing seventh in the race and cementing her fourth place finish overall in the heptathlon.

Kaufmann, a senior from Arlington, S.D., captured the elusive All-American honor in the final meet of her career. Kaufmann finished in sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5-07.25. Kaufmann was a fifth year senior and was also a member of the Augustana volleyball team.

Josh Barrows wrapped up his National Championship races by taking 16th in the 800-meter preliminaries with a time 1:57.12.

The Vikings concluded the 2016-17 track and field season on Friday.
